Three Poems by Sara Teasdale is a cycle of three poems by late-19th/early-20th century poet Sara Teasdale, who wrote lyrical poetry about love, romance, and compassion. Sara Teasdale received the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1918 with her collection of poetry entitled Love Songs. Three of those poems - "Spring Rain", "The Fountain", and "Buried Love" - have been set to music to bring to life the overpowering emotion and profound meanings of these poems behind her simplistic diction and lyricism. Each poem represents a unique interpretation as to what Sara Teasdale was feeling behind each poem's composition; it is up to the vocalists to illuminate the dark feelings that are immersed within Sara Teasdale's legacy.
